Internal fixation of simple fractures using plates and screws

WETLAB Thursday February 5th 2026  from 8h30 am to 5h00 pm  7 hours of continuig education     SUMMARY During this workshop, we will begin by reviewing the classification of fractures and their clinical approach. Next, we will explore the different approaches of long bones. Then, we’ll dive into the core topic: osteosynthesis using plates and screws. More specifically, we will examine the different types of plates and screws and discuss the principles of their application. We will also review fracture healing and highlight the various complications that may arise from this type of osteosynthesis. The hands-on portion will involve handling all the necessary equipment for performing a simple osteosynthesis on synthetic bone models. We will then repeat this approach on cadaveric specimens with fractures created using a sagittal saw, after refining our technique on various long bones. Don’t wait — places are limited.
